Travis Garone

For Royal Auto, I interviewed Travis Garone, one of the founders of the Movember movement, which has raised more than $850 million for men’s health, especially funding research into bowel cancer.

The pitch of my story was: what happens to all the money? Trav, and Director of Programs Paul Villanti, were candid and thorough, in explaining all the great work that comes from men wearing unsightly facial hair once a year, plus other initiatives.

Trav was great, shouting me coffee at his hole-in-the-wall cafe in Fitzroy and telling me lots of stories from this remarkable global movement that started with a birthday bet over beers in a local pub.
